“I strive to make sure all our clients feel supported, valued and included in their management of their NDIS plan, goals and needs."
Renee has been involved in disability care for almost two decades raising her teenage son who lives with profound cerebral palsy.
In the early years she spent hundreds of hours talking and meeting with government agencies and departments to further understand what was being done to help and how to access help.
She was involved in the first National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Conference in Queensland in 2015. There she learned for the first time how life would change for individuals who would have access to the NDIS.
Renee was involved for seven years in the P&C at her son's school, helping in a small ways to make the school a better place. She contributed time and energy to raise funds, work with the parent cohort and advocate for students as required.
She spent four years volunteering with Queensland Health as a support worker. Most recently Renee worked for a similar company in the disability sector gaining valuable insights into the ever-evolving mechanics of the NDIS and those who access it.
She holds a Diploma in Counselling and is co-founding director of Possum Support Services with Vanessa Shambrook.
